Covid-19: New rules on entering Switzerland

Published on January 20, 2022

On 19 January 2022, the Federal Council made the latest adjustment of regulations: The rules on testing to enter Switzerland are eased from 22 January 2022, meaning that the '3G' rule applies.

  • Persons who have been vaccinated or who have recovered from COVID-19 will no longer be required to present a negative PCR or rapid antigen test before entering Switzerland.
  • Persons who are not vaccinated or who have not recovered from COVID-19 will still have to take the tests to enter the country.
  • Travellers will no longer be required to take a follow-up test four to seven days after arriving.
  • Still, all countries are removed from the current quarantine list.
  • The Passenger Locator Form (PLF) will only have to be completed by those travelling to Switzerland by plane or on a long-distance bus service.
  • The online tool "Travelcheck.ch" assists in checking individual enry requirements.
