Swiss Abroad break the 800,000 mark

For the first time, more than 800,000 Swiss nationals lived outside Switzerland's borders in 2022, almost two-thirds of them in Europe, according to the statistics on the Swiss Abroad published today by the Federal Statistical Office (FSO). The figures illustrate the importance of the free movement of persons for our fellow citizens and the importance of access to political rights for this large group of voters - especially in view of the Federal elections.
